How to get rid of Monsters under your bed!

I have it on good authority that the following steps will rid your home of monsters.

Step 1: Inspect room thoroughly with a flashlight to ensure there are no monsters present before bed.
Step 2: Leave nightlight, music and hall lights ON.
Step 3: Leave bedroom door open.
Step 4: Hold teddy bear and noisemakers close. Monsters are very scared of loud noises! Any type of noise maker works as long as they are loud and can be left under ones pillow. We use coins in a bag and a loud rattle.

If steps 1-4 do not keep monsters at bay, the purchase of "commercially made" Monster Spray will be necessary.

Commercially made Monster Spray is very similar to bug spray or Raid. It is to be applied under the bed and in the closet and can even be sprayed on ones-self to ward off all sorts of monsters. If monsters are particularly stubborn then direct application can be used. Monsters will melt if sprayed outright with Monster Spray. Pre-spray areas affected by monsters and keep spray on a bedside table for direct application when necessary.

Grown ups:

How to make your own Monster Spray:

Purchase a small trigger style water mist or pump spray bottle from a dollar store. On your computer print a "Monster Spray" label (Google "Monster Spray" to get some ideas, or you can order some already made spray on-line). I have printable sticker paper which works great for making labels, it can be bought at any office supply store. Fix the label to bottle. Fill bottle with water and a few drops of perfume or essential oil "because monsters don't like things that smell like flowers/fruit". Make sure to bring this home in a grocery bag from the store! This will add to it's authenticity especially if you have an older child.

I got this tip from an acquaintance who's sons room was plagued by monsters and apparently it works like a dream. As I mentioned earlier you can buy a spray on-line, but unless you're willing to wait 2-3 weeks for the monsters to disappear I'd just make some, it can be ready for overnight delivery if necessary. Morgan's room was currently invaded by monsters and we are on steps one through four of the monster program. I will let you know if we need to move to step 5, and how it all works out.

***update*** well, we did have to resort to using the Monster spray to rid ourselves of the offending beasts. It worked increadibly well! As a note, we no longer spray our room unless we are totally and utterly exhausted, monsters seem to show up when you're tired.
